Holiday masculine decor

It's that time again - another challenge at The Male Room!

Today, I've got a couple of masculine decor pieces for the holiday season.  Usually, we think kids at Christmas - their excitement at Santa coming, making cookies for the reindeer, trying to sneak at peak at the presents in the closet.  I thought a couple of decor pieces for that special man in your life would be a nice change of pace!

This cute little votive holder is perfect for his office or den.  Super simple to make - you just need an empty jar, some manly paper and embellishments, and a votive!

Add some string or twine around the grooves on the top where the lid goes.  Adhere your paper and distress it a little bit.  I chose a sentiment that will remind him all year long what he means to me!

For the backside, I tinted some Mod Podge and swirled it on. Makes a cool looking transparent back, especially when the votive is going (mine is battery operated).

For this 2nd piece, I made a rustic wall hanging - and I think it's something you could use year-around.

I used an old picture frame and covered it in crackle paste. It's super crackly and pealing - some spots show through which is perfectly fine!  I added some printed burlap ribbon around the one corner with rusty wire.  I layered a bunch of torn papers and fluted paper, then tied a couple pieces of bark together with sisal.  A splash of snowflake paste, glitter, art stones, silver micro beads....

The sentiment isn't exclusively Christmas so it's something you can display all the time.  It would look great in his man cave, on the fireplace mantle, or even perched on the Christmas tree!  I hope you've been inspired to create your own holiday decor for that special guy in your life - Happy Holidays!
