Ta-da! It's Architextures Annie!

My first blog post as a new CCB Crew Member - it's Architextures Annie!

I started with a 9" tea-stained muslin doll & got my piece of stamped canvas that came in the Architextures Mixed Media pad. I folded it in half on the blank side, laid my doll on it, and did a quick outline of the dress (a little larger than the doll) with a pencil, then cut it out.

After that, I got a large needle & threaded regular string through it. I wanted the doll to be primitive, like a kid might make it. Nothing perfect - just whimsical!

Once you start going around the dress & handling it, the canvas starts getting those threads sticking out - perfect!

And then the fun part - accessorizing!

I added a strip of brown/blue checked ribbon at the front hem & gathered it a little bit. Then I chose one of the Architextures pocketbooks to put on her arm. And I went around the edges with distress ink.

Her little shoes are Tattered Angels Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist - and some little pearl buttons.

And let's not forget the ornate chapeau with a fancy gemstone & hat pins! Her lips are colored with Tattered Angels Sangria Glimmer Glaze

She's my new mascot while I'm on this fantastic crew! Try making one yourself - super simple because it's not perfect and doesn't follow a pattern. And it takes no time at all!

  7. She is so pretty! I love her dress. Did you stamp the canvas? I went back and reread and I did't see it but maybe I missed it. I love all the details you added.

    1. No - it was a pre-printed piece of canvas that came in the Mixed Media pad - it's really pretty.
